I am deeply honored to have been asked to join my friend Djimon Hounsou on the board of his Foundation. I am eager to actively support his commitment to give back to the African continent, its people and its diaspora.

The idea of reconciliation and reconnection, to look back at our history while presently engaging for a brighter future is dear to my heart. After a lifetime of traveling the world while raising my family between France, the US, the UK and even Congo as a child. I am looking forward to move back to my motherland, become an active member of my community, embracing my heritage and involve myself in projects that have an impact that matters.

When I decided to launch my TV network, my vision was bigger than to broadcast pure entertainment. My goal was to create an engaging platform to tell stories and connecting people from North to South, between the past and the present to encourage the reach of one’s dreams and purpose.

Giving a voice to the marginalized and unheard, allowing them to take back the narrative. Because at the end of the day, it is our story. Some of it may have been forgotten and hidden in the shadows of our collective memory and are now ready to resurface and inspire us with bright colors, vivid sound and striking sensibility.

These stories are the key to understanding who we are and where we come from. It will encourage us to open the hearts and minds of the people living in Africa and the world no matter their origin. I believe that knowledge and dialogue can break down barriers and allow the establishment for a better future for all of us. Together. And it can all start right here, right now with the work of this wonderful foundation.
